Baby Update!

>> Friday, September 26, 2008

Well, I went to the doctor's yesterday to do my glucose test, where they see if I have diabetes. This was no fun, though the stuff that you drink wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was the nausea I had for the hour I had to wait before they took my blood. But, so far everything is good, her heart rate is 145 and she was kicking the doctor like crazy, I think she will be hyper, she is always moving! Also this is kind of funny, we thought I might have been leaking fluid so I had to have an exam and everything was fine the doctor said that the baby must have kicked my bladder and I peed on myself a little bit, glad everything was ok, but now I'm gonn be peeing on myself...good to know! Everytime we get to hear her heartbeat I get so excited and think wow this is real plus I love feeling her move around in my stomach it is so cool!

New Pictures!

So a couple of weeks ago I got to shoot my good friends Stephanie and Mike's baby girl Delia's 9 month pictures. She is so funny, it may take a lot to get a smile out of her, but her expressions are priceless. Not to mention that she loves to eat leaves, dirt, sticks or whatever is laying around. I could hardly take the pictures because I was laughing so hard. Oh and miss Delia is a trooper, some of the photos she is in a sweater and a hat and it's like 80 or 85 degrees outside. We tried to shoot early but it got hot fast. Steph and Mike she so cute...everyone else enjoy the pictures!

Today is a day of.....great contemplation

I'm just kinda in one of those thinking moods. I'm praying about the City Uprising event next June in NYC - it's a great event to be a part of, I just pray that people want to travel, and that I want to. I just let life get in the way of what I feel God calling me to do. When I spend time with God and I get so excited about the ways that I can serve him, but then I start my day to day and it slowly fades. I'm trying to figure out how to make God my day to day and really do it, not just say I'm gonna try.
Well today I have a doctor's appointment, but I think they are just measuring the baby and checking the heartbeat, but I love to hear her heartbeat. I really feel her move now and I think she's gonna be hyper. Also, we are going to Charlotte this weekend to visit Elevation Church I can't wait, they seem to really have it together and are expecting God to do bigger things then they thought possible - and He is!
Well I guess that's all for today!

Well, I haven't written in a long, long time - mostly because I didn't figure anyone would want to read about what I have to say. Well, I like reading other people's blogs so maybe someone will want to read mine (plus I've had a lot of NICE encouragement from friends to update this!) Well lets see, I'm five months pregnant with my first child, but we don't want to know what it is - yeah right the first chance I had I found out - it's a GIRL! I'm excited and a little nervous, it's kind of like other people have children - not me, but I soon will. I guess I get nervous about the delivery part, which I try not to think about, but mostly about the being a good mom part. I've seen so many children suffer when their parents just don't take care of them especially emotionally, and I don't want to do that. What else has happened, umm Denira's baby shower was August 8th and it was so fun and now I can't believe that her due date is soooo soon. Also last weekend was my mom's 50th birthday party - it was good to see the family! A lot of people traveled down to Tennessee from NJ & PA, we are now the southerners of the family, well kind of have been for a while. Oh and the final big news, my 10 year high school reunion is this Saturday night - it will be interesting. I don't feel like too much has happened in 10 years but maybe it has for the rest of my class. I definately have learned a lot in those 10 years. Well that's really the big news that has happened since last December I guess.

Oh, please pray for the kids at Central High School in Knoxville, the shooting this morning was horrible, pray for Ryan McDonald's family and dealing with this tragedy.

I'm attaching these pictures below from when Chris, Denira, Bobby and I went to Virginia to do the Creeper Trail - we only did 17 miles. Last year Chris and I did the whole 34 miles and I thought my legs were going to rip off. Anyways enjoy the pics it was September and gorgeous!

...just a little while

>> Thursday, December 6, 2007

ok so it's hard for me to post often because i never know what to say, but since it's been like a month or so some things have happened. we are moving on the 29th, we close on the 19th. i thought i would be more excited, but i think it's cause i don't let my self think about it or it will take forever to get here and i will miss out on all the fun of christmas. i am always in a good mood during the holiday season, i love the cartoons, and decorations and funny movies. but i really try to remember why were are celebrating this special day, if this day never happened my life would be so different then it is now. God has truly blessed my life this year, i have gone through a lot of hard things in the past, but this year has been a little less crazy. i just feel like when things are o.k. or even good that's when my relationship with God becomes the same old thing or even less then that. i'm going to write this down so i will hold myself accountable this following year, i will go on a mission trip in 2008. i feel strongly that since my less then perfect trip to trindad that God has always let me know that it was not the end of my missionary career. i just let life get in the way and too many excuses. most people think after that mission trip that i would be too scared to go on another one, but God did bring me home safely and i know He is in charge of my life so i don't worry. well about that, i do worry about other things in my life.
my friends stephanie and mike had their baby delia on nov. 28th and she is a little cutie. i haven't gotten to see her in person but the pictures are beautiful. she had a scary start but she is out of children's hospital and home with her family now! praise God! also, kay had her surgery to get her breast removed and i am amazed at the faith of that family - they love God. i know that she will make it thru all the treatments and the cancer will not come back, but i know the road to getting to that point will be long and hard. kay is one of the strongest and most reliant on God women i know. God is using her and this experience for part of his plan, we will see what that purpose is one day.
o.k. so the last thing is i feel like i haven't hung out with anyone if forever. chris has been so sick for almost two weeks and he played a reunion show last saturday with his old band capulet and rockwell (which was freakin' awesome) but he lost his voice and felt worse then ever on sunday. the sacrifices great musicians make! he is on antibotics now and starting to feel better, but he needs to get rid of the cough. on top of that i have a cold and it's like my nose is on continious drip which is also making one of my eyes water. so it's safe to say i'm over the sickness, i want to have fun with my friends and enjoy the season, and get out of my apartment. i think after this week we should be better and things will go back to normal.
in closing i would like to pray for all the people that are going through some really big trials in their life - God will make us all stronger. Deena sometimes you just have to let the unknown happen and one day you'll look back and say oh that was what that time was for. Denira you have been awesome being so strong for everyone around you, even when you're going through your own stuff. just doing whatever anyone needs whenever. Deena you have been doing a lot too. I love my friends and that i am blessed to have friends that understand what being a christian means and trying to live that everyday. and also that i have a husband that does the same thing and is encouraging and loving to me. thanks to everyone!

Alright, I am so glad we have some cool weather going on. I can't believe I'm leaving for New Jersey next Friday - it snuck up on me so fast. It will be good to go home for a little while, though it will be very busy with the wedding. It's weird to go back after living in Tennessee for so long, to actually think the a big part of my life was spent there, I can't imagine living there now. Well this is short and sweet.
